She just won life-changing money on a nationally televised game show. Here’s how it all played out for this California woman who has big ties to Michigan on tonight’s episode of “Card Sharks” on ABC.

Mignon Turner is from Monrovia, California, which is located just east of Los Angeles. “I am a mother of two beautiful young ladies and I am renovating an entire block of residential buildings in a neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan,” she said as she introduced herself to host Joel McHale.

She first went head-to-head with Daniel Dean, an estate planning attorney from San Francisco. The goal of the game is to first answer questions based on polling of 100 people. Whomever is closer to what the polling number is, gains control of the board and gets to try and clear their seven cards by guessing if the next cards will be higher or lower.

In a rare game, Turner cleared her board before Dean ever had a chance to even take a turn. She advanced to the money card round which features seven cards. Contestants start with $10,000 and need to make wagers based on whether they think the next card will be higher or lower. The maximum prize is $640,000.

Turner had a great run of cards. Her first one was an Ace, the highest card possible. Ties, by the way, are pushes and the contestant can’t lose money. Turner doubled her $10,000 right away.

Her next card was a five. She went big betting $15,000 the next card would be higher. Higher it was with a Jack bringing her total to $35,000. She went big again wagering $25,000 the next card would be lower and she hit another great card with a three, bringing her total to $60,000.

Turner wagered $50,000 the next card would not be a two and would be higher. It ended up being a king, the second highest card in the deck. She now was up to $110,000.

She nearly went all-in with her next bet that the card would be lower than a king. Basically, anything but an ace as a king would push. She hit it with a queen putting her up to $210,000. An incredible run of cards with just one more to go.

The final wager has to be at least half of the contestant’s chips. The player can also choose to leave with the money before betting. A queen is a great card and Turner knew it and wagered $135,000 the next card would be lower. After some suspense, the final card ended up being a two giving Turner a total of $345,000 in winnings.
